Driver: Irran Jolly
Home Town: Perris, CA
Occupation: Real Estate
Irran Jolly has been in the scene as long as import drag
racing was popular. Irran grew up in the beginning of this
scene and watched the sport grow from being on the streets
to racing professionally on the track. His work experience
with several import performance companies through the
years helped him gain knowledge on the racing aspect of the
industry. After watching friends follow Pro racing careers, he
decided he finally wanted to take on a race car and compete
with the best of them.
Irran’s build of his Pro CRX began in late 2002. The chassis
was started by Ron Lumus Racing and completed at Steen
Chassis in Long Beach, CA at the final stages of the build.
Irran is a personal friend of ours and he approached us on the
engine build for his race car in 2003. The car was completed in early 2004 and testing began mid year. A few changes were
made throughout the following weeks on the suspension and we finally obtained a good solid 9 second run before the years
end. A great accomplishment since other race teams take many months and even a year to get the car dialed in and running
good times like Irran’s CRX did.
Other than racing with the team, Irran enjoys spending time with his tight knit family. He is always accompanied at the races with
his wife, 3 children, mother and father as well as other family members who are always willing to help a lending hand with the
barbecue grill.

Driver: Mike Barreraz
Home Town: Lompoc, Ca.
Occupation: Micro-electronics Engineering Technician
Mike Barreraz began his automotive experience in the show
scene of the industry. His Civic was a showcase of high end
parts and stood out of the crowd with its expensive paint job,
showy accessories and shiny big wheels. Then one day, he
caught the performance bug and started upgrading the
engine with parts to make the civic faster. That’s when he
contacted us at Exospeed Racing Products.
His quest for speed began with a simple turbo upgrade for the
engine he already had in the car. Basic off the shelf parts to
increase performance were good enough to get the car into a
range where he was satisfied… but only for awhile. As our
relationship between customer and shop grew through the
months, Mike showed that he wanted more. He was phasing
out of the show scene and wanted to do more to get the car in

a competitive condition. Mike joined us at a local NHRA event and saw a class that he can compete in. He approached us in
building a fully built race engine for his Civic so he can prepare the car to compete the following year.
As we planned Mike’s setup on his car, we knew that he was serious in wanting to build a competitive car. His knowledge about
cars was extensive enough that he would be an asset to the team if he would join us. The beginning of 2004 is when we
decided that we would like Mike to be part of the Exospeed Racing team. We saw his dedication and enthusiasm for the sport
and we decided to help build a setup that is actually the same exact setup as many all out Pro race cars but in a Street Class
car.
In 2004, the growth of this class received so much attention since it was a class that majority of the racing enthusiasts can be
part of and still be able to compete in. We completed the race car to debut at a July NHRA race in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car
received many praises for its looks and amazing engine setup in a street car. How many street Honda cars can say they have
over 650hp ready to go as needed. Not many that’s for sure. We continued the 2004 race season with the Civic with great
success and his race car helped promote our company as well as our associate sponsors.
The 2005 race season started out with flying colors as well. We tested during the off season and our season debut helped us
get a great time of 10.70 @139mph at an NDRA event in Pheonix, Arizona. The West Coast swing of the race series continued
with another stellar showing at the IDRC race in Palmdale, CA in April 2005 followed by an IDRA event at California Dragway in
Fontana.
The highlight of the 2005 race season was at the NHRA Sport Compact Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Here Mike
qualified 4th with a 10.76 @ 132mph pass. In the elimination rounds Mike fought his way into the final round, but was taken out
by Jasen Penmen of Utah. Mike could not have gotten to the finals without the help and determination of the Exospeed Racing
Team, and of course driving skills helped.
Arias Pistons has stepped up in 2005 and helped Mike and Exospeed on the engine program with custom racing pistons. We
are now preparing to install the new “Monster” motor to take on the competition in the 2006 racing season.
